HACC slates annual meeting for June 12

The Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual meeting and awards banquet June 12 at the Witt House in Priceville 

During the event, which will be held under an outdoor pavilion, the Chamber of Commerce will present various awards to Hartselle residents. The following awards will be presented at the banquet:  

E.R. Roberts Business Award 

According to the HACC, Hartselle is a better place to live thanks to E.R. Roberts, and there are still people like Roberts in the business community. Traits exhibited by this recipient are honesty, hard work, strong civic support, fair treatment and active participation in community, church and the Chamber of Commerce. 

 Dr. Thomas M Guyton Humanitarian Award 

The HACC said the recipient of this award is committed to improving the lives of others through generously giving her time and talents. She strives to enhance the community and the organizations she is involved in with a positive approach and unwavering support. 

 John J. Sparkman Citizenship Award 

The recipient of this award has a tireless commitment and dedication to the United States, Alabama and Morgan County, according to the Chamber. He has proven himself to be outstanding among his peers in the areas of personal competence, civic contribution and personal qualities. 

 Tommy Ed Roberts Civic Award 

The recipient of this award, according to the HACC, has shown and continues to show great pride in the community. They are committed to the growth and betterment of all citizens of the community. This is shown by their spirit of giving of their time, efforts and gifts for the benefit of the community and its citizens. 

English-Walker Ambassador of the Year Award 

The HACC said the recipient of this award has served the Chamber for several years and is always quick to assist whenever needed. She has helped with Depot Days, the Cotton Pickin’ BBQ Cook-Off, State of the Schools, State of the City, City Appreciation, and many other events throughout the years. We are honored that she has chosen to support the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce through countless hours of volunteering,” noted a HACC respresentative. 

Sponsored by Redstone Federal Credit Union, a social event will begin at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. The program, which will feature Ralph Nelson as its keynote speaker, will begin at 7 p.m. Nelson is the CEO of the Rocket City Trash Pandas in Madison. Live music will follow the program.
