Hartselle sets graduation for May 26
Hartselle City Schools this morning announced that it will hold its commencement ceremony May 26.
“We are excited to announce that Hartselle High School’s Class of 2020 Graduation Ceremony will be held on May 26 at 7 p.m. at JP Cain Stadium,” a letter from HHS principal Brad Cooper read.
A rehearsal for the ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. May 26 and, should inclement weather interfere, graduation will be pushed to May 27 at 7 p.m.
Each student will receive eight tickets that will be required for admission. Further, those who are sick or have been in contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 are asked to not attend the gathering.
Social distancing will also be followed during the event that was pushed back from May 18 due to uncertainty surrounding the ongoing pandemic.
According to HCS, guests will not be allowed on the field after the ceremony and are encouraged to limit gatherings to sites off-campus. To accommodate those who cannot attend, the ceremony will be streamed live on the Hartselle High School NFHS Channel.
“Although these changes are necessary to comply with regulations, we appreciate your patience and understanding,” the letter continued. “Most of all, we want to take time to congratulate the HHS Class of 2020 on persevering through a unique year and reaching this milestone of graduation,” the letter said.
