Domestic violence leads to arrest

A Gum Springs man is in custody after a domestic disturbance report April 28.
April 28 the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office received a domestic disturbance call from the Gum Springs community of Morgan County.
According to the MCSO, the attacker left the home before deputies arrived, but the victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance because of her injuries, which were caused by being hit multiple times with an axe handle.
Investigators with the MCSO Criminal Investigation Division, Special Victims Unit and Patrol Division executed a search warrant at the house and recovered the axe handle and multiple guns.
Donald Ray Reese, 57, of Gum Springs, was arrested for domestic violence in the second degree and given a $5,000 bond.
