Morgan schools seeking help to provide educational assistance

Local businesses and industries now have an opportunity to help provide educational assistance to students of Morgan County Schools during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Morgan County Schools spokeswoman Lisa Screws said the donations will go to help pay for immediate needs like WiFi at home, repairs to learning devices and other instructional concerns.

“We’re asking business owners, organizations, and individuals to use this web site to pledge monetary donations to this fund,” Screws said. “PepsiCo is kicking off the donations, but any business contributing $1,000 or more will be recognized on the site. We’re hoping to reach at least $25,000, which will go a long way toward helping our children learn.”

Monetary donations can be mailed to Morgan County Schools, Attention: Pandemic Assistance, 235 Highway 67 South, Decatur, AL 35603.

Contributions can also be made online at www.morgank12.org/donate

“It’s a win-win for all of us, and an easy way to help invest in education efforts in our community,” Screws said.
