Falkville’s Travis Ricks named to AHSAA North All-Star football team
Falkville’s Travis Ricks has been named to the North football squad for the AHSAA North-South All-Star game. The game will be played on July 15th in Montgomery at the historic Crampton Bowl.
Ricks was one of the leaders of a Falkville offensive line that helped pave the way to the second round of the Class 1A playoffs for the second consecutive season. He was named to the Class 1A honorable mention team.
Ricks, a 6-foot-3, 290-pound tackle, graded out at 91 percent on his blocking for the season and finished with 33 pancake blocks. He played for first-year Blue Devils head coach Tyler Mitchell.
Ricks is the first Falkville Blue Devil to be invited to play in the 61-year history of the all-star game. The South holds a 31-27-2 edge in the series that dates back to 1948.
