Hartselle High seniors win $1,100 in scholarships from Kiwanis Club

The Kiwanis Club of Hartselle held a Shooting for Scholarships competition at halftime of the Hartselle-Muscle Shoals boys game Tuesday night. Two Hartselle High School students participated in the shootout.

Seniors Chloe Holladay and Andrew Rittman each had 60 seconds to make shots from four different spots on the floor for different prize amounts. The shots were a lay-up, foul shot, three-pointer and from half-court.

Holladay was the first to shoot. She made shots from all four spots on the floor, including from halfcourt as the horn sounded.

Rittman was next to shoot. He made three shots during his time.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Kiwanis promotes the belief that by working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone, and when a child receives the chance to learn, experience, dream, grow, succeed and thrive, great things happen.
