HCS Drama Boosters plan NYE Gala

Hartselle City Schools Drama Booster Club will hold its first New Year’s Eve Gala this year, themed New Year’s Eve in NYC!

The family-friendly event will include dinner, a show, music and a non-alcoholic toast at midnight. The show will be presented by Hartselle junior high and high school drama students and showcase Broadway and New York themed selections. Music will be provided by local musicians.

The event will be held at The Venue in Downtown Hartselle and catered by The Warehouse.

The newlyestablished booster club hopes bring a fun annual event to the community for New Year’s Eve while raising funds to buy a building for the school system’s drama programs. They will need a building large enough to build sets and practice, Booster Club vice president Heather Lawson said.

The club will continue to raise funds annually to cover fees for students to join the International Thespians Society, purchase materials for props and costumes and fund any other drama program needs.

The New Year’s Eve Gala will begin at 8 p.m. at The Venue in Hartselle. Tickets are $30 each. Tickets will be available for pre-sale only and limited to 100 tickets. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Three sponsorship opportunities for the event are available:

  • Drama Supporter: Donation of $50, includes two tickets to the 20192020 school show, “Annie”
  • Gala Sponsor Level 1: Donation of $100, includes one ticket to the Gala, four tickets to “Annie” and recognition at the event along with logo advertisement
  • Gala Sponsor Level 2: Donation of $250 or more, includes two tickets to the Gala, six tickets to “Annie” and recognition at the event along with logo advertisement

The deadline to purchase tickets or pay for sponsorships is Dec. 20. Tickets are available at www.myschoolbucks.com or can be purchased from a HHS/HJHS drama student or a Booster Club board member. For additional information email hartselledramabooster@gmail.com
