Blue Devils break 29-game losing streak 

Falkville defeated Saint Bernard 58-49 Monday night to open up area play. 

The win is the Blue Devils’ first since Feb. 6, 2018, breaking a 29-game losing streak. 

The Blue Devils trailed 27-24 at halftime. They outscored the Saints 34-22 in the second half to secure the victory. 

Falkville was led by Avery Miller, who finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Camden Reid added eight points. 

J.C. Rose led Saint Bernard with 21. 

Falkville improved to 1-2 for the season and 1-0 in area play. 

GIRLS 

Falkville 57, Saint Bernard 12: Falkville defeated Saint Bernard 57-12 Monday night in the first area game for both teams. 

Falkville was led by Abby Speegle who scored 11 points. Haley Owens, Brooklyn Owens and Makenzie Veal each scored eight points. 

Saint Bernard was led by Ashlyn Plott’s game-high 17 points. 

Falkville improved to 4-4 on the season and 1-0 in area play. 

Falkville 45, Meek 40 OT: The Falkville Lady Blue Devils improved to 5-4 and 2-0 in area play as they defeated Meek 45-40 in overtime. 

The Lady Blue Devils outscored Meek 9-4 in the overtime period to secure the victory. 

Falkville was led by Speegle’s 22 points, including six in overtime, while Erika Johnson had eight points and 12 rebounds.
