Falkville High School FFA land judging team wins competition

Congratulations to the Falkville High School Land Judging Team for winning the Sand Mountain Land Invitational for the 3rd year in a row with team member Gavin Lee being the individual high scorer of the entire contest. Last Friday, the team won first place out of 46 teams at the North District Land Contest. Team members are Austin Orr, Gavin Lee, Bryce Bryan and Briar Kimbrell. Shady Grove Church ActivitiesShady Grove Baptist Church welcomes senior citizens to participate in “Team S.A.M. -Senior Adult Ministry” . The senior citizens meet on the first, third and fourth Tuesday of each month at 10:00 at the church. They have devotion, fellowship and go visiting on the first and third Tuesday. They enjoy going out for lunch on the fourth Tuesday. All senior citizens are welcome. Falkville Mayor Holds Safety MeetingOn Thursday, Nov. the 21st, Falkville Mayor Ken Winkles held a safety meeting for the Town Hall staff, Bonnie Thompson, Jill Walling, Kay Saint and Dawn Estes.
Their main study topic was insurance packages. Following the meeting, the group enjoyed a Thanksgiving theme lunch in the courtroom municipal chambers . Corinth West Methodist Church EventsRev. Wayne Jetton, pastor of Corinth West Methodist Church was the guest speaker for the annual community and area wide Thanksgiving service. Rev. Glenn Miller and Corinth West Baptist Church hosted the event at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. the 24th. The women’s group and the men’s as well, decorated and prepared the tables in the fellowship hall and gym . Ten churches participated including the host church and they were Piney Grove, Oak Grove Church of God, Mt. Vernon Methodist, Friendship, Upshaw Baptist, Andrews Chapel Baptist, Macedonia Baptist, Corinth West Methodist, Pleasant View Holy Church of Christ and Panama Baptist Church. These groups came from Morgan, Cullman, Lawrence and Winston Counties.Congratulations To The Falkville High School Scholars Bowl TeamCongratulations go out this week to the Falkville High School Scholars Bowl Team and Ms. Cristal Owens for placing 3rd out of 16 teams from across the county.
Team members are Cole Fitzgerald, Cedric Beavers, Sawyer Reynolds, Amelia Lopez, Ella Kyler, Dirk Childers and Jacob Wilkins.
