Hampton, Ord wed June 22

Amanda Joan Hampton of Hartselle and Colton Jay Ord were married June 22, 2019, at West Hartselle Baptist Church, Hartselle.  Dr. Steve Bateman of First Bible Church in Decatur officiated the 4 p.m. ceremony. The reception that followed was held at Burningtree Country Club in Decatur.  

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James N.  Hampton of Hartselle. She is the granddaughter of the late Amanda H. Kolb and the late Roy H. Kolb, both of Jackson, Miss., and the late Mr. and Mrs. James E. Hampton of Hartselle.  

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Ord of Decatur.  He is the grandson of Mrs. Faye Anderson of Decatur, the late William Kenneth Anderson, the late John Dale Nunez Ord and the late Patrician Ann Ord of Pascagoula, Miss. 

The bride was given in marriage and escorted by her father. She chose to wear a custom designer sparkling silver beaded wedding dress in light ivory. The molded sweetheart bodice was highlighted with straps of pearls and rhinestones. The back bodice plunged almost to her waist. The slimfitting skirt flared gently from the knee to a tulle embellished trumpet that swept to a cathedral train.   

Bridal shoes adorned to match the beading of the gown peeked from the hemline. Her cathedrallength veil of French tulle was beaded to match her gown and was held with a bridal bandeau of rhinestones and pearls. 

She carried a bouquet of creme de la creme roses, blush antique roses and hydrangeas with burgundy accents and surrounded by Jackson vine and magnolia leaves.  Along with her bouquet, she carried a handkerchief embroidered with her greatgreataunt’s (and namesake) initials.   

Maid of honor was Kelsey Rae, of Decatur, while bridesmaids were Taylor Sively of Hartselle and Leah Roberts Beach of Foleyall friends of the bride. 

Junior bridesmaids were Claire Blaylock of Madison and Reagan Blaylock of Madison, while flower girls were Emma Blaylock and Rylee Blaylock of Madison, all nieces of the bride. 

Best man was the groom’s father, Clifford Ord.  Groomsmen were Charles Ord, and Connor Ord, brothers of the groom, along with Jordan Guyse of Hartselle, William Brown of Huntsville and Ryan McGail of Atlanta, Ga., all friends of the groom.  

Ring bearers were Jacob Blaylock of Madison, Jon Ryan Blaylock of Priceville and Keegan Blaylock of Pricevilleall nephews of the bride. 

Honored guests were Mrs. Ethel Lemmond, greatgreataunt of the bride, and Col. Tyler Fletcher. 

Bridal gown and attendants gowns were by Something Blue Shop of HartselleSarah Morris and TJ HolmesWedding gown alterations were by Christy Urban. 

Ceremony music was by Deanna Anderson, organist, and Jacob Frank, violinist. 

Wedding directors were Amy and Ellen Robinson of Hartselle.  

Grace McClendon of Hartselle served as program attendant. 

Floral designers, for church and reception, were Karissa Lang of Hartselle and Jackie Smith Johns Aifd of Oneonta. Other decor was by Mrs. Candice McCaghren, Shindigs and Such. 

Reception music was by Pro 256 Entertainment.

Bride and bridal party’s hair and make-up was by Ashley Thompson of Posh Salon and Whitney Byford and Kimberley Chunn of Silverstone Salon of Hartselle.   

Brides and grooms cakes were by Nicole Windham of Sweet n Sassy Cakes.   

Outdoor wedding pictures were made at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Guyse, Hartselle. 

The reception was catered by Burningtree Country ClubJuanita Healy. 

bridal tea was hosted by Allyson Land, Beth Rabb, Sarah Morris, Lisa Gault, Anne Glasgow Robin Varwig, Sara Glenn Tanksley and Meg Knight at the Hartselle home of Beth Rabb.  

Friends at West Hartselle Baptist Church gave a bridal brunch. 

Bachelorette dinner was hosted by maid of honor Kelsey Rae Walling.   

Lingerie shower was hosted by April Blaylock, Amy Blaylock and Christie Blaylock at the home of Christie Blaylock. 

A children’s rehearsal dinner was hosted by Lane Hampton, mother of the bride, at the Freight House in Hartselle. 

The rehearsal dinner was hosted by parents of the groomMr. and Mrs. Cliff Ord, at the Freight House in Hartselle. 

bridesmaid luncheon given by Maggie Parr and Sissi Tanksley was held at the Booth Meadows Clubhouse in Hartselle.  

Following their honeymoon in Jamaica, the couple is making their home in Huntsville.
