According to a post made by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office Sunday afternoon, law enforcement is searching for an escaped Morgan County Jail inmate. The post states that John Kaleb Gillespie, 30, of Decatur escaped over a 25 foot recreation yard wall. As of Sunday night, investigators and area agencies are pursuing leads.

According to the post, Gillespie “is a registered sex offender with a violent history with Law Enforcement.” 

Gillespie is described as being 6 foot tall and 180 lb. The post advises anyone with information to contact 911 and states that Gillespie should not be approached.
