Mt. Zion WMU members attend conference in Tennessee

Several members from the Mt. Zion Women’s Missionary  Union enjoyed attending the Women of Joy conference in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Oct. 4-6. Those attending the conference were President Beverly Murphy, Betty Hutzler, Carol Powell, Carolyn Puckett, Faye Ward, Linda Houston, Helen Ferguson, Kim Hall and Carolyn Tapscott. 

Shady Grove Church hosts fall festival

The members of Shady Grove Baptist Church will host their fall festival Oct. 30. They will have a Trunk or Treat for the youth and also a chili and hot dog supper at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.

Area families welcome new members

Jordan and Whitney Wiggins are the proud parents of Caroline Reese Wiggins. She was born Aug. 29. Caroline weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces, and she was 21 inches long. 

Her proud grandparents are Macky and Robyn Young, Tammie Wiggins and Craig Wiggins. Her great-grandparents are J.W.Blackwood, Mary Blair, Frankie Blair, Ernie Hopper, Evelyn Hopper and Ann Wiggins. Jace and Emma Wiggins are her siblings.

Ryan and Tori McBride are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Sidney Grace McBride. Grace was born on Sept. 16, and she weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces, and was 19 and 3/4 inches long. 

She is the granddaughter of Sarah Ward, Chad Waugh and Amy Gallien. Her proud great-grandparents are Roberta McBride and Jesse Ward.

Lebanon Baptist Church Activities

The Senior Friends group at Lebanon Baptist Church held their monthly meeting fellowship and covered dish meal Oct. 2. The directors and assisting members decorated the family center with fall flowers and leaves with colored tablecloths and napkins. The event was directed by Don and Charlotte Morris. The church pastor is Brother Randy Ashley .

Corinth West Baptist Church News

Oct. 6 at Corinth West Baptist Church, Jessie Emerson presided over the monthly meeting. Christie Guthrie served breakfast for the men’s group and the women’s group. Dana Henslee provided the beverages for the meeting, and she also gave the devotional. Gayle Miller led the prayer for those requested.
