Hartselle volleyball scores undefeated week

The Class 6A No. 4 Hartselle Lady Tigers volleyball team went undefeated this week in four matches, all on the road. 

Tuesday the Lady Tigers traveled to Danville for a tri-match against 4A No. 5 Danville and 6A No. 9 Muscle Shoals. Hartselle defeated No. 5 Danville 2-0 (25-20, 26-24) in match one and defeated No. 9 Muscle Shoals 2-0 (25-18, 25-19) in match two.

The Tigers were led by Grace Leighton, who had 39 assists, nine digs and four kills. Hailey Holshouser had 21 digs and 10 kills, while Lillyanna Cartee had 22 kills and 12 digs and Tori Hughes got 20 digs.

Thursday Hartselle headed to Austin for a tri-match with Austin and Madison County. The Lady Tigers defeated Austin 2-0 (25-13, 25-9) in match one and defeated Madison County 2-0 (25-16, 25-10) in match two.

Leading the way for the Tigers was Leighton, who had 35 assists, seven digs, five kills and five blocks. Cartee added 15 kills and 13 digs; Holshouser had 12 digs and 11 kills; and Tori Hughes had 14 digs.

Hartselle improves to 8-3 on the season.
