Secrets of Sloane House

By Shelley Gray

Christian/Historical Fiction

This book is set during the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago. Rosalind is from a rural farm in Wisconsin and is trying to discover the truth about her sister’s disappearance. Reid is from an upper class family and realizes that the new housemaid Rosalind is in desperate need of help before something happens to her. There are two more books in this series that you will need to read to find out what happens at the Chicago World’s Fair. Book two is called “Deception on Sable Hill” and the third book is called “Whispers in the Reading Room”.

I know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie

By Alison Jackson

This old lady has a big appetite and she doesn’t care what she eats. From the beginning of the book she has got to eat everything in sight from the pie, to the apple cider and even a whole turkey! What is the best thing she ate you may ask? Well it is the pot that you cook the turkey in. I enjoy this type of book and I have a lot of fun reading this to our story-time kids. You are welcome to see what else the Old Lady likes to eat by checking out some of her other books.
