Falkville Public Library Reading Program

Roger David from the Wheeler Wildlife Center in Decatur was guest speaker for Falkville Public Library’s Summer Reading Program.

He spoke about the animals, fowl and reptiles in the refuge and how to pet them or protect yourself from them. He brought a rat snake to show and tell about.

Melinda Haynes read two animal stories to the children, and each person checked out books. Kids were given a chance to earn tickets to spend at a “Reading Store” set up in the library. The tickets are given out for reading books, and goodies are on display.

Refreshments were served, and appreciation is extended from librarian Jenny Asherbranner to Pam and Emily MacDonald, who assisted with the program.
