A search warrant executed at a home in Decatur July 23 lead to the arrest of two Hartselle women and three others from Decatur and Trinity. The search warrant came after an investigation involving the illegal distribution and use of methamphetamine.

Agents executed the warrant at the home of Steven Dewayne Allen where agents made contact with six individuals, including a 6-year- old child.

During the course of the search, agents recovered numerous drug paraphernalia items and quantities of methamphetamine throughout the residence. Most of the items recovered were within close proximity of the child.

Agents identified Jennifer Elaine Whisman, Taniel Denise Campbell, Courtney Leanna Reed, Steven Dewayne Allen and Shellie Terry Waldrepinside the home.

After the search, agents contacted the Alabama Department of Human Resources to assist in the investigation involving the child. After their arrival, and per their guidance, the child was turned over to a family member to initiate their investigation.

The MCSO charged the following people with crimes:

• Taniel Denise Campbell, 36 of Hartselle with unlawful possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, chemical endangerment of a child, loitering in a drug house and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Jennifer Elaine Whisman, 31 of Hartselle, Courtney Leanna Reed, 38 of Decatur and Shellie Terry Waldrep, 34 of Trinity were all charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, loitering in a drug house and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Steven Dewayne Allen, 57 of Decatur was charged with methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

“I believe people are beginning to understand that the Sheriff’s Office is taking illegal narcotics seriously,” Chief Deputy Chris Price said. “We continue to receive tips from the public, follow leads and make arrests no matter where they are located in our county. Especially when children are involved.”

All were transported to and booked into the Morgan County Jail. Campbell was booked with a $6,300 bond. Whisman, Reed, and Waldrepwere booked with a $1,600 bond and Allen was booked with a $1,300.00 bond.
