Chamber receives funds for downtown banners
The Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce received $10k last week that will go toward the addition of decorative banners to be placed on light poles in downtown Hartselle. The donation, $5,000 from Sen. Arthur Orr, R-Decatur and $5,000 from State Representative Scott Stadthagan, will be matched by the HACC, according to board chairman Grant McKelvey.
“The city has done a good job on making our downtown look good and we want to do the same thing,” he said.
McKelvey added there are 53 decorative light poles that the chamber is looking at for the banners.
“Let us know how we can help Hartselle grow,” Orr said. “It doesn’t stop today – if there are other amenities that we can help with that’s what we want to do.”
Thanking the members of the chamber who were present at the presentation, Stadthagan said he holds Hartselle close to his heart.
“I want to thank the mayor for all he’s doing. His interest is always ‘What is best for Hartselle.’
I’ve got to be out now in Morgan County and parts of Cullman County but Hartselle is in my heart like it always has been,” he said.
