Danville High School Band to hold special fundraiser April 27

The Danville High School Band will hold a fundraiser event, New South Wrestling, April 27 from 7-9 p.m. Bell time for the event will be 7 p.m. Tickets will be $10 each, and all of the proceeds will go toward purchasing new instruments for the band.
Everyone is invited to come out for some good entertainment, and your support for the band is greatly appreciated.

Anders, Wallace and Dobbs Reunion

The Anders, Wallace and Dobbs Reunion was held April 14 at 11 a.m. at the Massey Fire Station Community Center. Wayne and Janice Allen were in charge of the event.
Family members traveled from areas of Morgan, Colbert, Elmore and Autauga counties and also Georgia, Tennessee, Florida and North and South Carolina. They are the descendants of Rude and Carrie Anders, Wallace, William Tolbert “Sam” and Mary Jane Richie Anders, Mitchell and Mattie Garner Dobbs, Terry and Vera Wallace Dobbs and John and Katie Sue Wallace Dobbs.

Gandy’s Cove United Methodist Church News

The Gandy’s Cove United Methodist Church pastor is the Rev. Chris Jones from southeast Huntsville. Sunday, the morning worship service is held at 11 a.m., and the Wednesday night Bible study is held at 6 p.m. The current study is in I Corinthians.
Shirley Smith is the church pianist, and JoAnn Riley is the organist. The song service is led by Becky Johnson.

Corinth West Baptist Church Activities

Shanda Garner served breakfast to the men’s club and the women’s group at Corinth West Baptist Church April 7 at 10 a.m. Shirley Pope served juice, coffee and water to those attending. Jessie Emerson presided during the women’s business meeting.
The Easter-themed Senior Citizens Day lunch was held April 16 at 11 a.m.
Some Bible School plans were made for summer and for the Easter egg hunt and party for the children, April 21 at 10 a.m.
Dana Henslee gave the devotional on “Ask Again,” and Dawn Shedd led the prayer for those requested.
The men’s and women’s group adjourned at 10:50 a.m.

Falkville United Methodist Church Events

The Rev. Bill and Billie Smith were counselors for Falkville United Methodist Church youth April 9 at 6:30 p.m. The program was presented by Dan Higginbotham.
April 7 the congregation enjoyed its alternate month covered dish lunch. Jean McCaig, Debbie Higginbotham, Susan Smith and Jennifer Waddell helped with lunch and cleanup, and also helping was Dan Higginbotham.

Mt. Zion Baptist Church Activities

Youth director Jamie Stewart and group members and extra counselors will attend summer camps in June in North Carolina. They had to cancel the April 7 fundraiser lunch until a date can be announced later.

Shady Grove Baptist Church News

The members of Shady Grove Baptist Church will hold their Good Friday Service and Communion April 19 at 7 p.m. Shady Grove Baptist Church welcomes everyone to attend their Easter worship service April 21 at 10:30 a.m.
