County teams compete in softball tournament

The Morgan County Softball Tournament will be played Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Wilson-Morgan Park in Decatur. Hartselle is the defending champion, having defeated Danville in the 2018 Championship game 5-0.

Other previous winners have been Austin High School in 2017, West Morgan High School in 2016, Hartselle High School in 2015, 2014 and 2013 and Austin High School in 2012.

VARSITY

Varsity action kicks off Friday at 10 a.m. with pool play.

Pool A – Hartselle, Priceville, West Morgan

10 a.m. – Priceville vs. Hartselle

11:30 a.m. – West Morgan vs. Hartselle

1 p.m. – West Morgan vs. Priceville

Pool B – Brewer, Danville, Decatur Heritage

10 a.m. – Brewer vs. Decatur Heritage

11:30 a.m. – Brewer vs. Danville

1 p.m. – Decatur Heritage vs. Danville

Pool C – Austin, Decatur, Falkville

10 a.m. – Austin vs. Falkville

11:30 a.m. – Austin vs. Decatur

1 p.m. – Falkville vs. Decatur

The varsity tournament will conclude with bracket play that starts at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. The championship game is scheduled to start at 7:30 pm.

JUNIOR VARSITY

Junior varsity action will start Thursday at 4 p.m. with pool play.

Pool A – Austin, Decatur, Hartselle

4 p.m. – Austin vs. Hartselle

5:15 p.m. – Decatur vs. Hartselle

6:30 p.m. – Decatur vs. Austin

Pool B – Brewer, Danville, Priceville, West Morgan

4 p.m. – West Morgan vs. Danville

4 p.m. – Priceville vs. Brewer

5:15 p.m. – Priceville vs. Danville

5:15 p.m. – West Morgan vs. Brewer

The junior varsity tournament will conclude with bracket play starting at 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. The championship game will start at 6 p.m.
