Hartselle City Schools hold special-called meeting
Hartselle City Schools Board of Education held a special-called meeting June 28 to announce personnel changes.
During the meeting, Brad Cooper was announced as the new principal at the high school, and Ross Lewis was announced as the assistant principal at Burleson Elementary.
Cooper will be joining Hartselle City Schools from another system, and Lewis will be transferring from within.
The board also recognized the girls golf team for placing second in the state. Mikayla Dubnik was individually recognized for placing first in individual scores for 6A girls in the state. Superintendent Dr. Dee Dee Jones presented each player with a certificate of recognition, and Dubnik received a letter from Sen. Arthur Orr.
“This is a young team, and we continue to expect good things from them in the future,” Jones said.
The board also approved the following items:
- a new serving line at Crestline Elementary that will cost $49,998 in materials and labor.
- supplemental schedules for the coming school year.
- various personnel transfers and resignations.
