Nora Morris Byrd

Moulton

 

A celebration of life for Nora Morris Byrd of Moulton will be held July 1 at 2 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wendell Callahan officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. A private interment will be held next to her husband in the Speake community.

Nora passed away June 20 at NHC Healthcare in Moulton at age 73. She was born in Pecos, Texas, Dec. 7, 1944, to Omer and Rondah Pippin Morris.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Olen Laverne Byrd.

She is survived by her four children: two sons, Robert Byrd and Chris (Jan) Byrd of Hartselle, and two daughters, Neeya (Volker) Byrd Detering of Sunnyside, New York, and Philisha (Jonathan) Byrd Stephens of Priceville; grandchildren, Jonathan (Whitney) Byrd, Tyler (Ashley) Byrd, Caleb (Katie) Byrd, Ethan Byrd, Valerie (Michael) Byrd Baker, Victoria Matthews, Michael Matthews and Arabella Detering; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Neena Morris Kemp of Neel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of the Valley or to your favorite charity.

 

Jack Allen Frost

Falkville

 

Mr. Jack Allen Frost, 62, of Falkville, died June 18 at his residence. He was born May 5, 1956, in Morgan County to Oberdeen Dink Frost and Junita Clemons Frost. He was employed by Browns Ferry as an operator.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

No services are scheduled at this time.

Survivors include one son, Jeremiah Frost of Decatur, and two grandchildren.

 

Betty Jean Riner

Hartselle

 

Funeral service for Betty Jean Riner, 82, was held June 23 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Geoff Halbrooks officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.

Mrs. Riner died June 20 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born Sept. 2, 1935, in Cullman County to Clarence Young and Merle Martin Young. Mrs. Riner was a homemaker, always taking care of her family, who she loved and cherished. She loved to cook, bake and quilt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Riner; her parents; her daughter, Rita Riner; and three sisters, Alice Peek, Shirley Dye and Barbara Stinson.

Survivors include one son, Benford Hill Riner Jr.; one brother, Rathel Young; four grandchildren, Natashia Vaughn (Michael), Jessica Rae Riner, Zachary Riner (Sheena) and Justin Shane Riner; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Michael Vaughn, Jeremy Vaughn, Zachary Riner, Justin Riner, Cleve Vinson and Kendall Tipton.

 

 

Henry Junior Lindley

Falkville

 

Henry Junior Lindley, 70, of Falkville passed away June 23 at The Folsom Center for Rehabilitation and Health Care in Cullman. He was born Nov. 7, 1947, in Morgan County to Henry Lindley and Gladys Jones Lindley.

Visitation will be June 27 from 2-3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Lindley worked for Hartselle City Public Works Department.

Survivors include three sons, Thomas Lindley, Jonathan Lindley (Anna) and Steven Lindley (Sue); two daughters, Elizabeth Brice (David) and Sandra White; and two brothers, Joe Lindley and Marshall Lindley.
