Baseball:

Hartselle improves win streak to eight with sweep of Northridge

Hartselle 13, Northridge 4

HARTSELLE – Eight runs in the first two innings propelled the Hartselle baseball team to a decisive 13-4 over Northridge in Game 1 of Tuesday night’s doubleheader. Connor Burks and Taylor Easterling each recording two hits, including one double a piece. Easterling finished with three RBIs while Drew Nix notched two in the victory.

Garrett Wade picked up the win tossing 3.0 innings without allowing an earned run. He struck out seven of the nine outs that were recorded with him on the mound. Beau Fletcher was solid in relief for the Tigers. He pitched the final 2.2 innings without allowing a hit and striking out four.

Hartselle 10, Northridge 2

A late offensive surge helped the Tigers pick up the sweep as Hartselle scored eight runs in the final three innings to take down Northridge 10-2. Nix finished Game 2 a perfect 3-3 at the plate including one triple. Nix, Wade, Charlie Ord, Riley Wood, Grayson Bray, Ethan Ellis and Jackson Terry all picked up an RBI in the victory.

Houston Wright earned the win on the mound for the Tigers. Wright tossed 5.0 innings allowing just three hits and zero earned runs while striking out seven.

Hawks down Brewer behind 14-hit performance

Danville 9, Brewer 4

SOMERVILLE – Five different Danville baseball players notched multiple hits in the Hawks 9-4 victory at Brewer on Tuesday. Walker McAbee (2-5, two RBIs), Garrett Robinson (2-5, one RBI), Jackson Wigginton (2-5, one run), Turner Hogan (2-4, two RBIs) and Kurt Parker (2-2, one run) all notched a pair of hits in the win.

Parker earned the victory on the mound. He pitched 4.0 innings, allowing just one earned run and striking out three. Wigginton picked up the save striking out five Patriots in 3.0 innings.

Zack Self (3-4, one run), Jacob McMinemon (2-4, one RBI) and Zach Kodra (2-4, one RBI) each recorded multiple hits in the setback for Brewer.

Priceville drops decision to Decatur

Decatur 10, Priceville 3

 PRICEVILLE – Some timely hitting for the Red Raiders doomed the Priceville baseball team as the Bulldogs dropped a 10-3 contest to Decatur on Tuesday.

Trey Jones picked up the lone RBI for the Bulldogs. Brody Sharp tossed 3.0 innings in relief of starting pitcher Cole Smith. Sharp notched five strikeouts and allowed just one run.

Softball:

Lady Tigers handle area-foe Decatur

Hartselle 11, Decatur 2

HARTSELLE – A six-run second inning separated the Hartselle softball team from Decatur en route to an 11-2 victory on Tuesday. Hannah Grace Bevis, Jada Henderson and Kylie Winton all went yard in the win. Emily Cowart drove in three runs and was a perfect 2-2 at the plate. Natalie King also notched three RBIs on a bases-clearing double. Lillyanna Cartee rounded out the offensive outburst with a 2-4 performance.

Katy Sparkman got the start in the circle allowing two runs and striking out three in 3.0 innings. Morgyn Sparkman finished the final 4.0 innings and did not allow a run.

Brewer softball falls at Madison County

Madison County 9, Brewer 3

MADISON – Hannah Buchanan, Caitlyn Bryson and Amanda Knighten all notched a pair of hits but it was not enough as the Brewer softball team dropped a 9-3 decision to Madison County on Tuesday. Ali McDearmond also picked up an RBI in the loss.

Madisen Adams tossed a solid 2.0 innings of relief for the Lady Patriots. She did not allow a hit and struck out two Madison County batters.

Ryan, Coker lead Lady Hawks past East Lawrence

Danville 7, East Lawrence 2

 TRINITY – Callie Ryan was a perfect 4-4 at the plate to lead the Danville softball team to a 7-2 victory over East Lawrence on Tuesday. Ryan scored three runs and drove in one in the win. Emily Watts recorded two hits while Emma Broadfoot, Lindsey West, Laney Coker and Savanna Pelfrey each notched an RBI in the victory.

Coker tossed a complete game in the circle for the Lady Hawks. She struck out 11 East Lawrence hitters and allowed just two hits over 7.0 innings.

Lady Bulldogs nab area win over West Limestone

Priceville 7, West Limestone 6

PRICEVILLE – Madison Beddingfield went 4-4, scoring three runs and driving in one as the Priceville softball team picked up a clutch 7-6 area win over West Limestone on Tuesday.

Abigail Garrison (2-4, two runs) and Kathleen Wheeler (2-3, three RBIs) also recorded a pair of hits in the victory. Ashlyn McDonald was strong in the circle. She struck out 11 West Limestone hitters and allowed just two earned runs in the complete-game victory.

Soccer:

Lady Bulldogs blank Scottsboro in decisive win

Priceville 8, Scottsboro 0 (Varsity Girls)

PRICEVILLE – Olivia Duran and Karli Wade were up to their usual dominance on Tuesday as the duo guided the Priceville girls soccer team to an 8-0 win over Scottsboro. Duran finished the contest with four goals and an assist while Wade notched three goals of her own. Zoe West was the other goal scorer for the Lady Bulldogs. Ava Burnett, Anna Swindell, Liz Bell and Maegen Thurston each recorded an assist in the win. Breanna Dugger was perfect in net to earn the shutout win.

Priceville earns a draw against Scottsboro

Priceville 4, Scottsboro 4 (Varsity Boys)

PRICEVILLE – Will Dugger scored all four goals for the Priceville boys soccer team as the Bulldogs earned a 4-4 draw against Scottsboro on Tuesday.

Lady Rebels take down Elkmont behind balanced attack

West Morgan 7, Elkmont 1 (Varsity Girls)

ELKMONT – Four different players found the scoresheet for the West Morgan girls soccer team as they took down Elkmont 7-1 on Tuesday.

Mari Julia Delgado (two goals, one assist), Maribel Delgado (two goals), Brandy Hernandez (two goals and two assists) and Helena Jankowski (one goal and one assist) each scored for the Lady Rebels in the win. Joseline Lopez notched three saves in net for West Morgan. The victory improves the Lady Rebels to 5-0 in Class 1A-3A Area 8.
