Hartselle baseball slugs its way past Cullman
HARSTELLE – In a battle of a pair of heavyweight programs in 6A baseball, Hartselle was able to comfortably take down Cullman 8-2 on Saturday afternoon. Five different Tigers drove in at least one run in the winning effort.
Drew Nix led the way offensively for the Tigers, putting in a 2-3 effort with one RBI. Taylor Easterling picked up two-RBI double, while Connor Burks also hammered a two-bagger in the win.
Garrett Wade picked up the victory for Hartselle (3-1) tossing 4.2 innings and allowing just one earned run. Wade fanned eight Cullman batters and only walked one. Houston Wright and Conner McKee combined for 2.1 innings of relief without allowing an earned run.
Weather permitting, the Tigers will return to the diamond on Monday as they travel to Grissom. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
