Lady Tigers end season at Regionals

The Hartselle Lady Tigers’ softball season came to an end this past week during the North regional tournament that was held at the Huntsville sportsplex in Huntsville, Alabama. Hartselle suffered a tough first loss to the Hazel Green Lady Trojans in the first game of the tournament. Hazel Green eventually went on to win the tournament.

Hazel Green took a 1-0 lead in the first thanks an RBI single. The Lady Trojans added three runs in the second inning thanks to two separate home runs. Hazel Green continued blast runs across as they added two more home runs, one in the third and one in the fourth. The Trojans went on to win the game 10-0.

Hartselle 2, Oxford 9:

Hartselle’s season officially ended in a 9-2 loss at the hands of the Oxford Yellow Jackets. Oxford jumped on the Tigers early and took a 5-0 lead at the end of three innings. Hartselle cut the lead to 5-2 in the fourth thanks to an RBI single from Mackenzie Jackson that drove in Kylie Winton and an RBI ground out that scored Emma Fincher. However, Oxford still went on to win the game 9-2.

Hartselle ended the season with a 24-28 record.
