AREA CHURCHES HOST EASTER ACTIVITIES

Fairview: the Grace Place will have a traditional Easter Egg Hunt on Sat., April 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. for babies through the sixth grade. There will be games and sweets available and everyone is welcome to attend. Regular services on Easter Sunday will be at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. There will be a church wide breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Family Life Center.

GayNell Wilhite of Corinth Community returned home on Mon., April 3 from Bowling Green, Ky. While there, GayNell attended the Winter Guard Section of 83 High Schools Competition. Her granddaughter, Kristen Liles participated in the Muscle Shoals Band. They won the Silver 2nd place award out of schools from Mississippi, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama.

The children’s Easter Egg Hunt and party will be will be held on Easter Sunday at 10 a.m. on the church grounds and in the fellowship hall at Corinth West Baptist Church. In case of bad weather, the gym will be used for the egg hunt. Christie Guthrie, Shanda Garner and Donna Smithson will help with the event and others will contribute food. Anita Reid will prepare the eggs. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Corinth West Baptist Women’s group met Sun., April 2 at 10 a.m. in the adult classroom. The Men’s group met in the fellowship hall. Patti Condo from the Women’s group served breakfast to both the women and the men. They enjoyed the fellowship time and the food. Belinda Ricks gave the devotional. The women planned the Senior Citizen’s Day menu including baked ham and smoked turkey with a post Easter theme. They enjoyed sausage, a fruit tray and donuts and Dawn Shedd provided the juice. The annual Easter Egg Hunt will be at the church on Sat., April 15 at 10 a.m. All are welcome to attend.

Angel Bussey prepared Poulet de Normandy and others the beans and corn, desserts such as chocolate cake, caramel cake, tea, soft drinks and water at McKendree United Methodist’s Community supper at 5:30 p.m. on March 31 for the Celebrate Recovery program the praise songs were led by Noah Battles. The Lord is crowned in thorns was used as the Easter theme. The speaker talked about having sponsors to help with recovery. Accountability and compassion are important in choosing one. Group discussions were conducted by Brother Mike Vest and Tammy Vest and Teri Sanford worked with children’s activities.

Coach Joel Schrenk and his wife spoke at the Falkville United Methodist Church on Sunday morning for worship service about their mission to Haiti. Everyone enjoyed a fellowship meal afterward. Falkville United Methodist Church will have a SEDER meal on Fri., April 14 at 6:30 at Gandy’s Cove and a fellowship meal will follow.
