What mail service was like in the 1940’s and 1950’s: mail came to the Post Office by train. There was a mail car in the train and mail came in cloth bags. There was mail twice a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The mail was sorted at the Post Office and placed in the office mailboxes, the mail on the country mail route was delivered by a mail carrier. There were three mail routes.

History lesson: bathroom paper was invented in 1857.
