Hawks slam East Lawrence

The Danville Hawks continued their strong season with wins over the East Lawrence Eagles last week.

The Hawks jumped on East Lawrence in the first game with a three run second inning. Garrett Robinson scored on a passed ball and Hunter Hensley on a bases loaded hit by pitch. Jackson Locklear scored on a passed ball as well.

Danville later added four runs in the sixth inning. Landon Tidwell singled and Carson Owens doubled to drive in runs. The Hawks won the first game 7-0. Landon Tidwell, Garrett Robinson and Hunter Hensley each tallied two hits for the Tigers. Weston Krohe got the shutout win on the mound. Krohe allowed just two hits and no runs with nine strikeouts in six innings pitched.

Danville 11, East Lawrence 0:

The Hawks shut out the Eagles once again in the second game of a doubleheader. This time Danville finished the game in four innings.

Three bases loaded walks, one on a hit by pitch, have the Hawks a 3-0 lead after the first inning. Danville added two more runs in the second thanks to singles from Dylan Parker and Weston Krohe. Danville went on to win 11-0. Landon Tidwell led the Hawks with three hits. Tidwell also picked up the pitching win.

Danville 9, Decatur Heritage 10:

The Danville Hawks couldn’t quite pull out the win in this thriller. After trailing 6-2, the Hawks scored seven runs to almost complete the comeback. Landon Tidwell and Dalton Parker each had two RBIs. Dalton Parker took the loss on the mound for the Hawks. Carson Owens and Landon Tidwell also pitched in the game.
