Funeral for Mable Purdon, 92, was Fri., Mar. 3, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Walter Blackman officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.

Mrs. Purdon died Tues., Feb. 28, 2017, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 26, 1925, in Pontotoc County, Miss.,  to Benjamin Clovis Tallant and Mary Alice (Hall) Tallant.  She was a seamstress for many years and was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of East Highland Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her husband, Leroy Purdon and a daughter, Ann Purdon Rhea.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Leigh Ann Rhea West (Brian) and Chris Rhea; three great-grandchildren, Christopher Rhea, Ashley Rhea and Spencer Rhea; and a son-in-law, Charles Rhea.
Pallbearers were Chris Rhea, Brian West and members of East Highland Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to East Highland Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 888, Hartselle, AL 35640.
