The Danville Hawks competed in the Decatur softball invitational this past weekend

Danville 3, Florence 0: Madalyn Holladay pitched a shutout win for the Hawks over Florence. Holladay delivered three strikeouts and only gave up two runs in her five innings pitched. She also worked out of a bases loaded jam in the fifth inning, which ended up being the deciding factor as the game’s time limit exceeded after the inning. Morgan Weatherwax and Hannah Bates delivered RBIs for the Hawks.

Danville 3, East Limestone 2: The Hawks fell behind 2-1 to the Lady Indians in this game. Hannah Bates tied the game in the fifth with a sacrifice groundout and then Morgan Weatherwax delivered a game winning double to give Danville the win 3-2.

Danville 3, Austin 2: Danville scored three runs in the first inning of this game and that proved to be all the difference. Emma Broadfoot blasted a three run homerun that ultimately proved to be the game winner. Madalyn Holladay picked up the pitching win for the Lady Hawks.

Danville 3, West Morgan 2: Danville inched out a victory in this game over the Lady Rebels. Holladay drove in Morgan Weatherwax and Broadfoot drove in Holladay to give the Hawks the lead 2-0 in the first. West Morgan tied it at 2-2 but Holladay drove Weatherwax across again in the sixth to give Danville the win 3-2.

Danville 13, Brewer 1: A pair of six run innings by the Lady Hawks gave them the edge in this win. Callie Ryan, Savanah Free and Holladay led the Hawks with two hits. Ryan had three RBIs in the game.

Danville 1, Priceville 7: Danville’s only loss of the tournament came against the cross county Priceville Bulldogs. Priceville jumped on Danville 7-0 and the Hawks never recovered. Callie Ryan and Savanah Free each managed one hit for the Hawks.
