Derrell “Bigun/Big Boy” Brown

Funeral for Derrell “Bigun/Big Boy” Brown, 70, of Lacey’s Spring was Thur., Feb. 9, at 1 p.m. at Valhermoso Holiness Church with Bro. Tim Patrick officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Valhermoso Holiness Cemetery.

Mr. Brown died Tues, Feb. 7, 2017, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Aug. 26, 1946, in Morgan County to James Harold Brown and Madge Mae Barber Brown. He was the owner of D & M Recycling business.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Gary Wayne and Dewell William Brown; and a brother, James “Buddy” Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Peete Brown of Lacey’s Spring; a daughter, Marjorie Brown Russell, (Billy) of Somerville; five sisters, Madgie “Sister” Woodard, Betty Faye Edwards, Frances Brown Bonds, Kathryn Brown Ellenburg, (Roger) and Virginia Brown Raburn; four grandchildren, Joshua David Russell, (Jennifer), Justin Wayne Brown, Christopher Cody Brown and Chad Brown; and five great- grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Dewayne Speegle, Cleon Timmons, Charles Woodard, Gary Thompson and Tommy Suit.
Honorary pallbearers were Calvin Stapler and Billy Swafford.
