The Falkville Public Library Board will meet at the library conference and office room on Feb. 13 at 4:30 p.m. The business session will have discussions on having an IRS employee conduct a class on filing certain tax forms at the library. Also, the library would like to host a program by a guest speaker for community out reach and a fund raiser of some kind. Jenny Asherbranner, Librarian, urges everyone to come by and check out books and other items, use the magazines and newspapers. If you don’t have a library card, to obtain one is a simple procedure. For Valentine’s and a romantic treat, check out some books, biographies or novels, on the great romances of history. Enjoy cookbooks with recipes and photos of “love dinners” and decorations.                                      Carolyn Besnyl works in the Friendship House Kitchen serving seventy people in Decatur who come there on four MCATS buses, twice a month. On Wednesday, Jan. 25 she helped serve a pizza, salad and cookie lunch.

A Community supper was hosted by McKendree United Methodist Church on Jan. 27 at 5:30 p.m. Chilidogs, chips, dips, deserts and drinks were enjoyed by twenty-five area people and visitors. At 6:30 p.m. Noah Battles led the praise service. There was a video of a recovery person giving his testimony and the serenity prayer. Lynn Hogan was the leader of the women’s discussion and Derrell Shelton conducted the men’s group.                                    Christian love and heartfelt prayers go out this week for Carolyn Besnyl, Charlotte Wise, Paula Hardin, Barry Halford, David Buckelew, Gayle Foot, Betty Parker, Howard and Helen Gibson, Jack Hucks and Ann Anderson.                                                              Special get well soon wishes go out this week for Mary Ellen Asherbranner.                                                      Special belated happy birthday wishes go out this week for Billy Tillman and Geraldine Hughes and happy birthday wishes also go out this week for Eva Walker-Feb. 21 and Lorene Bryant-Feb. 16.                GayNell Wilhite of the Corinth Community attends the adult Bible study at Emeus Baptist Church in Logan, each week. The group of women meet from 10 a.m. till 11 a.m. on the 3rd Tue. each month. The members from Emeus attend Corinth Baptist Senior Citizens Day. The Bible study group is studying from Exodus                                       Charlotte Wise of Homewood and Lacon area, spent the weekend in the Falkville and Lacon area and attended the Falkville Class of 1952 breakfast. 12 people from Morgan County attended the breakfast at 8:30 a.m. on Sat., Jan. 28 at Libby’s Restaurant in Priceville.
