Hartselle gym under new ownership
Hartselle Fitness, formerly the Hartselle Athletic Club, is now open under new owners.
The gym was bought by former Hartselle football standout Justin Youngblood and his wife Mandi, as well as, Chad and Anna Eddleman of Cullman in September. Youngblood said he is passionate about fitness and wanted an opportunity to still live out his competitive lifestyle.
“We’re from Hartselle and we love this community, “ Youngblood said. “ We have been looking for a location to build a gym or buy one and this just fell into place. The word has been getting out about us taking it over and we hope it just continues to grow and people come in and see the expansions and changes that have been made.”
Upon taking the gym over in September, the couples worked to re-model and bring a new look to the facility.
“We wanted the initial impression to be better,” Mandi said. “We’ve completed renovations, repaired equipment, bought new equipment, added a spin room, added 2000 pounds of free weights; We’ve really done a lot in the time we’ve been here so far. We still have more we want to do.
The location offers a variety of classes, an expanded selection of weights and machines, childcare, a studio, tanning, and according to members, an incredibly friendly staff.
“Since the Youngblood’s bought the gym it has been a night and day difference in the upkeep here,” member Jeff Tillman said. “Before, I didn’t even know who owned the gym. With them, they are here everyday and they make you feel like family when you are here too. It is not about money to them, they truly have a passion for fitness and health. I wouldn’t ever think about going anywhere else.”
The Hartselle Fitness location will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, January 5 at 10 a.m. For membership packages, pricing or more information, contact Hartselle Fitness at 256-502-9931.
