Funeral for Gail Sims Peck, 81, of Hartselle was Sun., Jan. 1, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Hartselle with Bro. Bobby Ray Halbrooks and the Rev. Jimmy Bassham officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.

Mrs. Peck died Sat., Dec. 31, 2016, at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born Sept. 23, 1935, in Decatur, to J.P. Sims and Christine McCullough Sims. She was a graduate of Decatur High School and attended Judson College and Florence State Teachers College. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hartselle. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley and her caregivers, Michelle Glasco, Angla Elliott and Kathy Childers. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David Sims.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert Peck; a son, Jim Peck (Kim);

a daughter, Jamie Host (Alan); a sister, Nancy Mayfield (Benford); a sister-In-law,

Betty Sims; four grandchildren, Emily Peck, Arthur Peck (Anna), Micah Host (Brittni) and Ryan Host (Lacey); and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Arthur Peck, Micah Host, Ryan Host, Mitchell Sims, Bret Mayfield, Bart Mayfield, Jeff Black and Art Glasgow.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Hartselle building fund.
