It’s been a weird season for the Hartselle Lady Tigers basketball program. Big things were expected out of the Tigers this year after making a trip to the Final Four last year and returning four starters. However, while Hartselle has posted a 7-3 record ,with their only 3 losses coming to top 10 tens, the Tigers have not looked like the cohesive unit they were last year. They hoped to change that when they traveled to Columbia.

Hartselle opened the game on a 9-3 run off two Moriah Taylor three pointers and a three pointer from Anna Mathis to end the first quarter. Columbia managed to score six in the second to tie the game at 9-9 at halftime.

Hartselle took control in the third quarter as Lindsay Berry, Allie Mayfield and Madison Lawler all added baskets to make the lead 16-11. Taylor ended the quarter with another three pointer to make it 19-12. Taylor then opened the fourth quarter in the same fashion as she knocked in two straight three points shots to make the lead 25-13. She added six more points in the quarter as Hartselle won the game 33-16.

Taylor finished the game as Hartselle’s leading scorer as she score 21 of their 33 points.
