Lady Blue Devils beat Holly Pond, falls to Decatur Heritage

The Falkville Lady Blue Devils were in action last week as they took on Decatur Heritage and Holly Pond. In the first game against Decatur Heritage they would fall behind 5-0 early. Katelyn Widner and Makenzie Smith would score in the third to cut the score to 5-2. Falkville would take the lead in the fifth inning when Bailey Anders, Autumn Eddy, Emily Gray and Smith all scored to take the 6-5 lead. However, Decatur Heritage would retaliate with a 7 run fifth inning and would go on to win 13-9. Anders led Falkville with 3 hits.

In the first game, Falkville jumped on Holly Pond and kept up the offense with innings of 4, 1, 1, 3 and 5 runs to win the game 14-4. Anders led with three hits while Maddie White and Emily Gray both had two hits. White also had three RBIs and recorded the pitching win with 19 first pitch strikes and 2 strikeouts.

The second game would be much closer but Falkville would use three runs through the first three innings to take the win 3-2. White and Gray led with 2 hits each while Anders got the pitching win with 20 first pitch strikes and 5 strikeouts.
