Hartselle high school had another signing on Friday March 11th when David Dunford signed his letter of intent to wrestle at Cumberland university. A celebration was held in Dunford’s honor in the cafeteria of Hartselle high school. Friends, Family and teammates gathered to celebrate Dunford’s accomplishment.

Work ethic was the theme of the event as coaches both former and future talked about Dunford’s incredible work ethic both on and off the mat. Shaine Jaime, an assistant coach at Cumberland, spoke very highly of Dunford. “When you go out looking for new players David is the kind of player you look for” Jaime said “His willingness and drive to always continue to work to get better is something all people should simulate.”

Dunford is very excited to take this next step in his career. “I was drawn to Cumberland because it is close to home and the coaches there are very successful” Dunford said “I feel like the coaches here have prepared to take this next step and I think the coaches there will help me achieve great things.” Dunford didn’t sell himself short when talking about his goals. “Obviously my biggest goal is to get my education” Dunford said “but my plan on the mat is to become an All American.”
