Hartselle Lady Tigers claim first victories

Its been a rough start to the season for the Hartselle Lady Tigers as they entered their game against Bob Jones on Monday March 7th without a win. The Tigers had been struggling to put points on the board, but they were hoping that would all change against Bob Jones.

Hartselle took the lead early 3-1 lead in the second inning and never gave it up. The Tigers would tack on 5 runs in the third inning to take a 8-2 lead. Bailey Powell had a huge game as she doubled in the second inning and tripled in the sixth inning. Powell along with Kaitlyn Spangler and Lindsey Robinson all combined for 7 hits and 7 RBIs. Gracie Poe took the pitching win as she recorded 2 strikeouts however Hope Cain came in at the end of the 2nd inning and threw 17 first strike pitches and 7 strikeouts. Robinson led the Tigers with 4 RBIs while Spangler led with 3 hits.

Hartselle also took on the Lawrence County Lady Devils on Tuesday March 8th. Hartselle took the lead early 4-1 at the end of the third inning. Lawrence County would storm back to tie the game 4-4 going into the last inning. Bailey Powell would get the lead back for the Tigers when she drove in Brooklyn Wallace to make the score 5-4. That run would turn out to be the game-winning run for the Tigers. Hope Cain got the win on the mound. Bailey Powell led the Tigers in hits and RBIs as she had 3 and 2 respectively. Kennadi Hogan was second for the Tigers with 2 hits.
