Maggie Lucille Roberts

Maggie Lucille Roberts, 93, of Johns Island, S. C., died Sun., Feb. 28, 2016. The family received friends Wed., March 2, 2016, at Peck Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m.

Burial was Thur., March 3, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 28, 1923, in Decatur, the daughter of the late Mark Middleton White and Minnie McCluskey White. She was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was a gifted piano player and loved singing in her gospel group. She was an avid gardener and had been especially honored to have a day lily named for her, “Mrs. Maggie”. She was a life member of Southern Methodist on Johns Island, SC. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Duey and Elton Roberts of Johns Island, SC.

She is survived by her two sons, Lorren Roberts (Debby) of Cape Coral, Fla., Copey D. Roberts of Wadmalaw, SC; a daughter, Charmaine Bennett of Wadmalaw, SC; seven grandchildren, Tori Roberts Vaughn, Lisha Roberts, Lori Roberts Williams, Geoffrey Bennett, Matthew Roberts, Chelsea and Katie Roberts; nine great-grandchildren, Kayla Gardner Ladyman, Zach Gardner, Jacob, Hannah, James, John and Joseph Williams and Parish and Allison Roberts.; and three great-great-grandchildren, Jace and Kylie Grace Ladyman and Ansley Williams; and many nieces and nephews.
