James Kevon Houser, Sr.

Funeral for James Kevon Houser Sr., 52, of Somerville will be Mon., Feb. 29, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jesse Reeder officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sun., Feb. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Houser died Wed., Feb. 24, 2016, at his residence. He was born Aug. 28, 1963, in Panama City Beach, Fla. to Calvin Varnell Houser, Sr. and Hettie Faye Wilson Houser. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, a Mason, and a member of the Moulton’s Lion’s Club. He worked as a security officer for a time at TVA Brown’s Ferry. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a part of the jail ministry and was a missionary at Moulton Baptist Church and currently attended Epic Church in Decatur.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Houser of Moulton; a son, James Houser Jr. of Moulton; a brother, Calvin V. Houser Jr., of Somerville; two sisters, Rita F. Kyker of Somerville and Donna K. Henderson of Brindlee Mountain; and one grandchild, Ellie Brooke Houser

Pallbearers will be Will McClanahan, Chris Houser, John Kyker, T.J. Henderson, Steven Houser and Ronnie Dugger.
