James Brown

A graveside service for James Brown, 91, of Falkville will be Wed. (today), Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. at Hartselle Memory Gardens with the Rev. John Russell officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Brown died Thur., Dec. 24, 2015, at his residence. He was born Feb. 16, 1924, in Morgan County to Marvin Brown and Mabell Johnson Brown. He was a member of the U.S. Air Corps, a veteran of World War II, a member of the Methodist church in Falkville, a DMAC charter member, and a member of VFW and American Legion. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Jean Evans; a son, James Michael Brown; and his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Libb Brown of Falkville; a daughter, Janice Vinson of Falkville; four stepsons, Randy Stiles of Jacksonville, Jeff Stiles of Eva, Matt Stiles of Falkville and Kelley Stiles of Huntsville; a bother, Wayne Brown of North Carolina; a grandchild, Kenny Vinson; three great-grandchildren, Kayla, Lainy and Haley.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Vinson, Matt Stiles, John David Bryant, Glenn Byrd, Jimmy Little, Johnny Ferguson and Marlin Hutson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Falkville.
