Ben Findsen

Funeral for Ben Findsen, 85, was Tues., Dec. 15, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ben Findsen and Bro. Wayne Penn officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery

Mr. Findsen died Sat., Dec. 12, 2015. He died at the home of his daughter, Faith, so peacefully and went to be with the Lord, while surrounded by family that he loved and that loved him.

He was born Sept. 7, 1930, in Michigan to Milo Findsen and Edrie Shippey Findsen. He was employed by U.S.B.I. at Redstone Arsenal prior to his retirement. He worked on the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo and Space Shuttle Programs. He and his wife worked for seven years as house parents at the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home in Troy. They helped plant Southern Baptist churches in California, New York State and Pennsylvania. He loved music and singing in the church choir and was a member of First Baptist Church of Decatur. The hobbies he loved were hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Findsen and his parents.

He is survived by a son, Benjamin G. Findsen (Doris) of Florida; two daughters, Lorrie Ann Moore (Sean) of Birmingham and Faith Colleen Clardy (Mike) of Hartselle; a brother, Robert Findsen (Ariona) of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a sister, Sherry Kaiser Orihel of Michigan; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jeremy Clardy, Wade Edwards, Aaron Cossey, Hubert Young, Jason Odom and Dustin Odom.
