Peyton Colburn had three touchdowns and the Danville defense added two more as the Hawks (4-2) cruised to a 38-0 region win over the Curry Yellow Jackets (0-6).  Colburn’s first TD, a 1-yard run, gave the Hawks the only points they would need.  Logan Jaep added the PAT and Danville led 7-0.  A 16-yard Landon Tidwell to Colburn pass and a 42-yard field goal by Jaep sent the Hawks into the locker room with a 17-0 halftime lead.

The Danville defense got its first TD in the 3rd period when Jackson Locklear intercepted a Curry pass and raced 70 yards for the pick six. Jaep added the PAT to make it 24-0 Hawks.  Colburn got his final score of the evening on a 38-yard run and Danville’s Tyler Thompson ended the scoring when he picked up a Yellow Jacket fumble near midfield and ran it back for the score.  Jaep, as sure a thing as a safe and secure Gotham City when Batman is in town, added the extra point after each score to make it Danville 38, Curry 0.

The Danville win ended a two-game losing streak for the Hawks and it was much needed as Danville gets into the second half of their schedule.  The Hawks will host Cordova for homecoming on Friday night at Smith-Owens Stadium.  After hosting Cordova, Danville will travel to Hamilton before ending region play with a home game against Haleyville.  The Hawks will likely need wins in two of these games in order to get back in the playoffs for the first time since 2009.  Danville will then close the regular season at home against Falkville.
