Johnny Douglas Kyker

Funeral for Johnny Douglas Kyker, 64, of Somerville will be Wed., Aug. 5, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Segars officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Kyker died Sun., Aug. 2, 2015, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born May 31, 1951, in Morgan County to George Eugene Kyker and Annie Grace Segars. Mr. Kyker was formerly employed by Wolverine Tube as a shift supervisor and enjoyed overseeing Wolverine Park. He loved to playing golf and piddling around outside. He loved watching Alabama football and the Atlanta Braves. He loved his grandchildren and being a “Papaw”. He was loved by his two great-nieces, Anissa and Kenadee Henderson. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joni Faye Kyker; two sisters, Linda Wallace and Margaret Thompson; and his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Rita F. Kyker of Somerville; a son, John David Kyker (Carolyn) of Anna, Texas; four brothers, Donald Kyker of Gurley, Jerry Kyker (Mary), Billy Kyker and Jimmy Kyker all of Hartselle; and two grandchildren, Benjamin Kyker and Colton Kyker

Pallbearers will be TJ Henderson, Mikey Henderson, Joey Kyker, Jeff Kyker, Steven Houser, Chris Houser and Jamie Houser.
