Percy Lee Landers

Funeral for Percy Lee Landers, 84, of Hartselle was Tues., June 9, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Blair officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mr. Landers died Sat., June 6, 2015, at his residence. He was born Jan. 11, 1931, in Danville to Murray David Landers and Sarah Elizabeth Asherbranner Landers. He retired in 1994 as a steel fabricator and supervisor at Willo Products after 34 years. Mr. Landers married Sarah Carolyn Hollomon on March 20, 1953. Mrs. Landers died in December 1991. He remarried April 10, 1993, to Judith H. Blankenship. He was a devout Christian and member of Southwest Baptist Church in Hartselle. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; a son, the Rev. Dennis B. Blankenship; a daughter, Lisa Blankenship; three brothers, Floyd Landers, Howard Landers and Murray Landers; and three sisters, Christine Lovelady, Laverne Penn and Helen Bean.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Blankenship Landers; a son, Jerrold S. Landers (Jackie); three daughters, Melinda Moore (Clint), Marybeth Wainwright (Matt) and Laurie Erickson (Jon); a daughter-in-law, Louanne Blankenship; three brothers, Burl Landers, Don Landers and Doyle Landers; a sister, Wilma Aldridge; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were David Landers, Michael Landers, Tim Aldridge, Tommy Lovelady, Ronnie Lovelady, Randy Lovelady and Barry Dean.

Honorary pallbearers were the Men’s Adult Sunday School Class of Southwest Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to either the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home or the Gideons International.
