Falkville baseball roundup for March 24

No. 6 Falkville defeats Vinemont

Falkville’s Blue Devils defeated Vinemont 16-6 on the road March 17.

Andy Dove led Falkville in hitting with a triple, two doubles, three RBIs and scored three runs. Taylor Steele had a pair of singles, two RBIs and scored three runs. Ryan Bradford had a double and two singles, two RBIs and three runs scored. Hunter Woodall had a pair of singles and scored two runs. Nic Martin had a double and scored twice. Dallas Mayer had a pair of singles, an RBI and scored a run, and Colin Eason and Shane Pace each had an RBI.

AJ Robinson was the winning pitcher. He pitched two and two-third innings and allowed three runs on three hits while striking out five batters and walking four.

Steele pitched one and two-third innings, allowing one run on two hits while striking out one and walking four. Dove pitched two-thirds of an inning, allowing two runs on two hits while striking out one and walking three. Steele pitched two-thirds of an inning, allowing one run on two hits while striking out one and walking three.

Falkville 11, Decatur Heritage 3

Falkville’s Blue Devils took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and went on to defeat Decatur Heritage in a home game Saturday.

Ryan Bradford had a pair of doubles, a single, four RBIs and scored a run to lead Falkville at the plate. Tyler Woodall doubled, singled twice, had an RBI and scored two runs. Colin Eason had a pair of singles and three RBIs.  Nic Martin had a single, an RBI and scored two runs. Hunter Woodall singled and scored three runs. Andy Dove singled and Taylor Steel and Dallas Mayer each scored a run.

AJ Robinson was the winning pitcher, allowing  three runs on eight hits while striking out six and walking one.

FHS 13, Vinemont 3

Falkville’s Blue Devils collected 13 hits in a 13-3 win over Vinemont at home Saturday.

Hunter Woodall had a triple, double, two singles, an RBI and scored two runs to pace Falkville in hitting. Dallas Mayer had a double and single and scored two runs, AJ Robinson scored two runs and had an RBI, Taylor Steele  had a single, an RBI and scored a run, Nic Martin had a single and an RBI, Alex Fowler had a pair of singles, two RBIs and scored a run and Tyler Woodall and Andy Dove each scored a run.

Fowler pitched six innings, earning the win. He allowed three runs on five hits while striking out two and walking one.
