Morgan County Commissioners approved payment of $51,425.36 to J.A. Dawson & Company for the renovation of the playground at West Park at a regular meeting Tuesday morning.

District 2 Commissioner Randy Vest said new ADA compliant equipment has been installed in the playground area and will be opened for use by the public within a week or 10 days.

He said a security fence is currently being installed around the age appropriate play area.

Work is progressing on the construction of a press box at a new football field and a new pavilion and restrooms, he added.
