Hartselle boys finish 10th at Point Mallard

Hartselle High School’s cross country track team came in 10th in the boys division and 12th in the girls division at the Dew it On the Trails invitational at Point Mallard in Decatur on Saturday.

Aaron Davis paced Hartselle’s boys with a 23rd place finish. Johnathan Duncan finished in 43th place with a time of 17:32.1 and Jon Paulsen came in 46th with a time of 17:37.8.

Hartselle’s girls were led by Taylor Barnett with a time of 21:37.4. Morgan Ward finished in 81at place with a time of 22:57.4 and Brantley Owens came in 98th with a time of 23:43.2

The boys division had 314 runners representing 19 teams. Competing in the girls division were 220 runners representing 15 teams.

“This was one of our bigger events of the season,” said head coach Kenny Lopez. “The boys team continues to make progress with their times but we’re still missing some girls due to injuries.”

The team will compete in the Tuscaloosa Invitational on Saturday.
