Church Calendar for Oct. 2

East Highland Baptist Church, 1030 Main St. E. in Hartselle, will have a singing Thur., Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. with the Fellowship Quartet, The King’s Messengers and Eric Summerford. A love offering will be received. The event is free to the public.

Southwest Baptist Church, located at 1705 Ridgedale Drive SW in Hartselle, will have a yard sale Oct. 5, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds will go to the youth program.

A fall harvest festival will be held at Rock Springs Church Sat., Oct. 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Food, games, prizes, cake walk and lots of good family fun. For more info., call Josh Riffe at 813-362-8924 or Kaei Riffe, 813-362-9769.

First Christian Church, located on Main Street in Hartselle, will have a yard sale Oct. 5 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Morgan County Cattle-men’s Association will sell steak sandwich plates  from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Plates  include a sandwich, chips, homemade desserts and a drink. Eat in or take out available. Proceeds will go to youth camp.

There will be a fall clothing give-a-way Sun., Oct. 6, from noon to 5 p.m. and Mon., Oct. 7, from 9 to noon, at Talucah Volunteer Fire Department. It is sponsored by Pleasant Acres SDA Church and community services department.

Valhermosa Springs Holiness Church, 384 Johnson Landing Road in Valhermosa Springs, will have a benefit yard sale and bake sale, Sat., Oct. 5, beginning at 6 a.m. Breakfast, fresh baked goods, fried pies, Boston butts, hot dogs, hamburgers, barbecue and more will be available. They also have for sale a black Angus calf, 700 pounds, fireplace insert, table saw, bbq grill, jewelry, toys, clothing and much more. For more information, call 256-778-8416.

Renewal servics will be conducted at Roundtop Community Chuch Oct. 6-9. Services are scheduled as follows: Sunday at 6 p.m., Bro. Bobby Smith; Monday at 7 p.m., Bro. John Taggart; Tuesday and Wednesaday at 7 p.m., Bro. Stanley Reeves. Music will be provided by Bro. Mike Gunter, Marty Turney and others. Everyone welcome.

Flint United Methodist Church, 3 Oxmore Flint Road in Decatur, will have its fall revival beginning Sun., Oct. 6-9. Dr. Benny Tate from Rock Spring’s Church in Milner, Ga., will be the evangelist and Bro. Nicholson leads in worship. Children’s revival is the same week, ages 3-12.

A new market for local farmers, free of charge, is being sponsored by the Church of the Good Shepherd, Episcopal in Decatur. The Market at Good Shepherd will be held Oct. 7-Nov. 11 each Monday from 2-5 p.m. on the front lawn of the church at 3809 Spring Ave. SW across the street from Fire Station #7. Produce for sale will include pumpkins, apples, greens, onions and tomatoes. Also available will be goat cheese, eggs, ice cream and beef products. No Fences Cowboy Church will have its inaugural Day of the Cowboy Western Heritage Day and Ranch Rodeo, Oct. 19, starting at 7 a.m. at the Sheriff’s Posse Grounds in Hartselle. The actual ranch rodeo will start at 7 p.m. and there will be many events in between, such as cattle branding, iron working, horse shoeing, cattle dog training, leather making, and much more. Serenity Baptist Church, 1032 Perkinswood Road in Hartselle and Pastor Earl Holt invite you and your family to Sunday School at 10 a.m., worship at 11 a.m., Sunday evening at 5 p.m., and Wednesday night service at 6:30 p.m. to glorify God through faith, prayer and discipleship. Faith Independent Church, located on Bell Springs Road, on top of Lacon Mountain, has services each Sunday at 10 a.m. for Sunday school and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. for worship (except on third Sunday nights–no service). Pattillo Street Church of God and Pastor John McPeek invite you to Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. (classes for all ages) and praise and worship at 10:30 a.m. A Sunday evening service is held at 5 p.m. and a Wednesday service at 7 p.m., including youth activities. Seeds of Love hours of operation have changed to Mondays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Fridays from 2 to 5 p.m. This is both a food ministry as well as a baby supply ministry. Piney Grove Christian Church invites you to worship with them each Sunday at 10 a.m. for Sunday School, preaching at 11 a.m., night service at 6 p.m. and each Wednesday for Bible study at 6 p.m.

Liberty Baptist Church, 1206 Lane Road NW, welcomes and invites the community to worship with them each Sunday with Bible study at 9:45 a.m., Bible preaching at 11 a.m., discipleship training at 5:30 p.m. and Bible preaching at 6 p.m.

West End United Methodist Church, located at 513 St. Clair St. in Hartselle, with the Rev. Richard Cassis hosts Sunday breakfast and fellowship at 9:45 a.m., Sunday school at 10 a.m. followed by worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday evening worship is at 5 p.m.

Wednesday evening Bible study begins at 5 p.m. Bible study with  children’s classes at 6 p.m.

Life House Assembly of God, located on 144 County Road 1212 in Vinemont, holds weekly services on the following schedule: Sunday morning worship and Kid Zone children’s church at 11 a.m. and Wednesday night Bible study at 6 p.m. Pastor is Howard Leslie.
