Andrew ‘Ray’ Stinson

Funeral for Andrew “Ray” Stinson, 84, was Mon., Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church at Oden Ridge with the Rev. Phillip Robinson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Oden Ridge Cemetery.

Mr. Stinson died Fri., Sept. 20, 2013, at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born March 13, 1929, in Morgan County to Lewis Stinson and Lois Allison Stinson. He was a lifetime member of Oden Ridge Baptist Church and the American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gerry Stinson and a brother, Ronald Stinson.

He is survived by five sons, John Stinson and wife Regina, Kevin Stinson and Wayne Stinson and wife Joy, all of Hartselle, Gerald Stinson and wife Liz of Mission, Texas and Randall Stinson and wife Diane of Morgan City; a brother, Raymond Stinson and wife Lois of Eva; three sisters, Laura Smith and husband Guy of Baileyton, Levean Wilson and husband Jimmy of Eva and Betty Stinson of Lansing, Mich.; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were grandsons and nephews.

The family extends a special thanks to the staff at Summerford Nursing Home for their special care.
