Library has successful ‘Dig into Reading’

Breanna Dean, granddaughter of O’Neal and Margaret Murphy, has returned from a mission trip to Guatemala with a group from Fairview Grace Place.

O’Neal and Margaret Murphy and Kenneth and Carol Free ate out in Hartselle last Friday night.

The summer reading program, “Dig In and Read” at Falkville Public Library concluded Thurs., July 25. A guest speaker from Vulcan spoke on Fossils. After the program, 25 were served pizza and cola drinks.

Belated birthday wishes are sent to Betty Wright. Her special day was July 28.

Betty Wright extends best wishes to Mary McDonald on her birthday, July 31 and to Peggy Garrison. Her special day was July 25.

Belated birthday wishes are extended to Ima Hughes and Micheal Teague from First Baptist Church, Falkville. They both celebrated their special day, July 30. Belated birthday wishes are also sent to Paula Kay Gutherie on Aug. 2. She is the daughter of Esmer and Kathleen Anders.

Dr. and Mrs. Robert Allen celebrated their wedding anniversary on July 31. Best wishes are extended from Betty Wright.

Barnabas Class at First Baptist Church, Falkville, was the host for the family night supper last Wednesday. The group of 40 dined on covered dish dinners, meats, pasta and desserts.

Get well wishes are sent to Dorothy Clark from members of First Baptist Church, Falkville.

First Baptist Church, Falkville, will conduct a back to school bash at the church, Aug. 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be games and food served. School will start back on Aug. 19.

Steve and Sue Norton of Eva stopped by for a visit with her parents, Doc and Sue Edmondson. Also visiting with them was their daughter, Bonnie Edmondson of Cotaco.

Members of the 1952 Class of Falkville High School met at Libby’s Restaurant in Priceville Sat., July 27, for their monthly breakfast.

Enjoying the fellowship and talking of their school days were Bob and Charlotte Evans Wise, Ray and Betty Sanders, Kenneth and Betty Appleton Harp, Sarah Hadley Gaines, Scotty Parker, Franklin and Sue Harrison, Jack and Ina Holiday Hucks and Shirley Cooper.

Ray and Betty Sanders were in Maryville, Tenn. recently to attend the Christening of their twin great-grandchildren, Lydia and Curtis Banks, at Maryville Methodist Church. They are the children of Shawn and Kerri Banks.
